A startup company is an amazing animal.

 

While you may think your stodgy old company is relatively nimble, I can assure you that a startup will challenge your ability to adapt.  Ideas are quickly brought to fruition, the market renders judgment, and adaptations are required.  Large customers or corporate relationships can greatly influence previous and future projects.  New challenges or demands require additional capabilities and capacity which then forces company growth.  Workforce additions cause people, infrastructure and related systems to evolve towards higher orders of functionality and complexity.

 

In short, if you are in a startup you are due for challenging and interesting times!

 

For example, here at Poptiq, the number of good executable ideas per person is growing at a rapid rate.  While this is fantastic in and of itself, and we are all good at multitasking, there is some limit to the amount of effort and productivity that people can produce.  While I won’t advocate that we slow down I do hope you’ll understand if the great product suggestions you’ve given us take a while to find their way through our work queues.  We are certainly listening to you.

 

Anyway, I should get back to work.  I’m trying to sneak in some time to push the idea of providing some simple widgets.  An obvious example would be to give you the ability to publish a list of videos that you’ve recently viewed and liked  on your own blog or site.  If you have ideas for cool Poptiq widgets, drop a comment.  Maybe we can give you exactly what you want…
